Intense pulsed light (IPL) Therapy

What is IPL?

Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy is a non-invasive treatment used to improve the  cosmetic appearance of skin. IPL, also known as a photofacial or photo rejuvenation,  can treat imperfections like sun spots, enlarged pores, acne scars, acne, and uneven  skin tone and texture. This treatment uses select wavelengths of light to target problem  areas of the skin.

IPL is more gentle than traditional laser treatments, with a downtime. IPL gives  patients a more youthful and balanced appearance and can be used in combination with many other cosmetic treatments.

How does the IPL Photofacial work?

This type of laser uses broad band light energy to heat up and destroy the target,  killing acne causing bacteria, pulling pigment to the surface to flake away, and  stimulating collagen.

What to Expect During Your IPL Treatment

If determined you are a good candidate, we will begin treatment by applying a cooling gel to the treatment areas on your face. This cooling gel will help to protect all the healthy skin cells and provide each patient a higher level of comfort during the procedure. During treatment, there will be brief flashes of light for each treatment area and a warming sensation.
IPL treatments are administered using a handpiece that allows our trained laser specialists to guide the laser over each treatment area. IPL treatments usually take between 30 to 60 minutes and patients can carry on with their normal daily activities without any downtime.
