Laser Hair Removal

How does laser hair removal work?
Laser energy is absorbed into the follicle to heat and destroy it, permanently stopping growth of that hair.
Hair grows in a cycle, moving from the growth phase to being inactive and shedding. Hair that is in the Anagen phase aka the growth phase, is what is targeted during the laser hair removal treatment.
After several weeks new follicles will enter the growth phase and can be treated with another session. With each session, less hair will return until your goal is met. We recommend a series of 6-8 treatments for removal of most hair follicles. Some patients need more depending on their skin type and color.

When will I see my results?
Most patients notice a decrease in hair growth in the week following their very first treatment! With each treatment there will be additional reduction of hair growth.
Is there any downtime after laser hair removal?
Not at all! In very rare cases, skin may feel a bit sunburnt for a short time after the treatment, however, there is typically no sign that you have been treated. As with all laser treatments it is important to avoid sun to the treated area after your laser hair removal.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
Yes! The follicles that are targeted will permanently be removed. Having growth of a few hairs in the treated area is still considered a successful treatment!
Over time hormonal changes or other life events may stimulate new follicles to come due to inactivity in treated areas. This can easily be addressed with a maintenance treatment.

How much does laser hair removal cost?
Pricing depends on the area being treated. Our sessions start at $75 for a small area like chin or upper lip, and increase depending upon the treatment site. We encourage our clients to maximize their treatments by:
- Treating their most desired area first.
- Ensuring that all areas to be treated are freshly shaven without visible hair. We suggest shaving the night before or the morning of your appointment. Lasering actual hair can make the area more sensitive.
- Avoiding sun to the areas to be treated for 7 days prior to treatment.
